Your Core Responsibilities

As an SMB Sales Specialist, your day-to-day will be dynamic, requiring rapid shifts in priorities and a strong sense of urgency. You will focus on two key objectives: hunting for new growth and expanding existing accounts.

Key Duties:

  • Aggressive Prospecting: Actively hunt and close new B2B opportunities within the SMB space (1–150 employees) via phone, virtual tools, and in-person meetings.
  • Solution Selling: Conduct thorough “needs analyses” to deliver tailored wireless, wireline, and Business Connect solutions that align with client business goals.
  • Relationship Management: Build long-term trust with C-suite executives and key decision-makers, owning the strategic planning and service delivery.
  • Pipeline Hygiene: Maintain an accurate sales funnel, provide timely forecasts, and consistently hit monthly quotas.
  • Contract Negotiation: Navigate and finalize contractual agreements in accordance with TELUS policies.

  • Telecom Experience: Successful sales experience specifically within the telecommunications industry.

Are you a high-performing sales professional who knows how to inspire a team, smash targets, and lead by example on the retail floor?

SmartCell Communications is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Manager of Retail Operations to oversee our retail locations across Eastern Ontario (Ottawa, Brockville, Belleville, and Kingston). In this role, you will split your time between operational oversight and active, on-the-floor sales coaching. You aren’t just managing from behind a desk—you are leading the charge, jumping into the sales process, and showing your teams exactly what success looks like.

Key Responsibilities

· Drive Sales Performance: Actively work the sales floor alongside your team to model top-tier sales techniques, close deals, and drive revenue growth across the territory.

· Coach & Mentor: Turn retail sales associates into sales superstars through consistent, hands-on coaching, performance feedback, and goal setting.

· Territory Oversight: Monitor KPI performance across the Ottawa, Brockville, Belleville, and Kingston locations, identifying opportunities for growth and implementing strategies to hit regional targets.

· Operational Execution: Handle essential operational duties, including inventory management, ensuring brand merchandising standards are met, and scheduling optimization.

· Team Leadership: Foster a collaborative, high-energy, and customer-first culture across all locations. Assisting in recruitment, onboarding, and training of retail staff.

Qualifications

· Retail Sales Experience (Required): A proven track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets in a retail environment. You know how to sell, and you love doing it.

· Management Experience (Asset): Experience leading a retail team, managing multiple locations, or supervising staff is highly valued.

· Mobility/Telecom Knowledge (Asset): Prior experience in the wireless or telecommunications sector is a major plus.

· Travel Mobility: Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle, with the flexibility to travel regularly between the designated Eastern Ontario locations.

· Strong Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams and build strong customer relationships.
