Helping youth achieve independence
For youth leaving foster care, their phone can be their lifeline, helping them build credit, search for somewhere to live, find education and job opportunities, and stay in touch with friends and vital support networks.
A collaboration between TELUS and Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada (CAFC) and select Centre de Jeunesse Foundations, Mobility for GoodTM helps these kids achieve independence by providing them with a free phone and a $0 plan, including 3 GB of data for two years.
Do you have lived experience in the child welfare system and are under 26 and over the age of majority in your province? If so, you are eligible for Mobility for Good.
If you are in Quebec, visit the Centre de Jeunesse Foundations (CJF) of Bas-St-Laurent, Chaudière-Appalaches, Québec City and Montréal or talk to your social worker about the program.
Finding real connections in a digital world
Every year over two thousand youth transition out of Canada’s child welfare system. Many, like Brittany Milla, struggle to adjust to independent life without the support of permanent families.
