Mobile healthcare technology in action. 235,000 Canadians experience homelessness each year, often while facing complex mental health and addiction issues. Many cannot easily access traditional medical care, yet urgently need help, especially with the unprecedented opioid crisis fueling an exponential rise in emergency room visits.
Our Health for Good™️program funds TELUS Mobile Health Clinics, powered by TELUS Health technology, that improve the way health practitioners deliver care for the most vulnerable among us, respecting their privacy and dignity while reminding them that they are not alone. Because a friendlier future for all begins with a single act of kindness.
Telus has committed $1 million over five years to pay for the van and equipment, and to help staff it. The partnership includes Ottawa Inner City Health, Ottawa Public Health, The Royal and both the Sandy Hill and Somerset West Community Health Centres.
